Our goal is to give students accurate, useful and independent information about studying in Norway.
Sourcing
Institutions and English-taught degree programmes come from the programme list on Study in Norway (studyinnorway.no), the official portal run by the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir), together with the institution register in DBH, HK-dir’s database for statistics on higher education (dbh.hkdir.no, open data under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data). County names follow Statistics Norway’s standard for counties. Guidance on tuition fees, the study permit, living costs, healthcare, work rules and applications is written from official pages: Study in Norway, the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI), HK-dir, Samordna opptak, the State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), Helsenorge, NAV, Statistics Norway, student welfare organisations and the institutions themselves. We write the text in our own words. Every study guide ends with the list of pages we used, their addresses and the date we last checked them. QS World University Rankings positions are used only where we have a sourced position for an institution; we never estimate a ranking.
What we will not publish
We do not invent numbers. Where a provider has not published a fee, a deadline or a founding year, the field stays empty and the page says so, rather than showing an estimate dressed up as a fact. A missing tuition fee is never shown as free. We quote a fee only when an institution has published it, and we name the institution and the academic year. Programme records are never generated: every programme on this site comes from the Study in Norway programme list, and we link to the institution so you can check it yourself.
Review and freshness
Records are reviewed regularly. Each university page shows when it was last updated, and we flag data that needs re-verification internally. Guides state the date their official sources were last opened.
Independence
Commercial relationships (advertising, affiliates, lead generation) never influence the factual content, ordering methodology or which universities we include.
Careful language
We avoid guarantees such as “guaranteed admission” or “guaranteed visa”. We describe universities factually and avoid unsourced praise. Our guides are general information, not legal or immigration advice, and the authority that decides your case is named on each page.
