A contribution to travel and subsistence costs; the amount varies
Overview
The Norwegian government does not offer individual scholarships to exchange students. But a few other schemes exist, and the Erasmus+ grant is one of them.
The Erasmus+ grant is for students from the EU and North Macedonia, Serbia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Turkey. It is a contribution to travel and subsistence costs. The amount can vary. It depends on differences in living costs between your country and Norway, how many students apply, the distance between countries, and whether you have other grants.
You apply through the international or Erasmus+ office at your own higher education institution. The grant is for an exchange period, not for a full degree.
There is also the Nordplus Higher Education Grant. If your home institution takes part in a Nordplus higher education programme, you may be eligible. You cannot apply directly to the Nordplus administration. Contact the international office at your institution instead.
