A contribution towards the extra costs of studying abroad, calculated from fixed travel and accommodation rates
Overview
Nordplus Higher Education pays for mobility between Nordic and Baltic institutions. The money is a contribution towards the actual cost of activities in the participating countries, so organisations should expect some degree of co-financing.
For individual mobility, support is calculated using fixed travel and accommodation rates. The Espresso application system works out the total grant amount automatically. Those rates are maximum amounts, and networks can decide individual scholarship amounts based on their total grant. Agreements on scholarships must be made before exchanges begin.
Up to 5% of the used grant can go to administration by the coordinating institution. That has to be reported but does not need supporting documents.
There is also funding for intensive courses, projects and network meetings. Each project can receive up to 100,000 € per call and may receive funding for three consecutive years, up to 300,000 € in total. The budget system uses fixed unit costs to calculate what can be applied for, but the granted sum is allocated as a lump sum to be used based on real costs.
Eligibility
- Activities must take place in the participating countries, and costs for participants from non-Nordic or non-Baltic institutions are not eligible.
- Costs for activities outside the Nordic or Baltic region are not eligible.
- Applicants must use the official budget templates, and the figures in the template must match the amounts entered in the Espresso application.
- Applications without completed budget models will be rejected.
