Overview

This award is tied to a nomination. You cannot apply for it yourself. It is only for students who are nominated and admitted to a master's programme through partnerships that take part in the NORSTIP scheme. The scheme is run with HK-dir, the Norwegian Agency for Higher Education and Skills.

Once you are nominated and admitted, the University of Oslo administers the scholarship. That means UiO handles the payments and any questions you have about them. Your contact person at UiO is the one to ask about payment schedules and similar matters.

The money is meant to cover reasonable costs for living and studying in Norway. You are personally responsible for making sure the payments meet your housing, fees and general living costs. The right to receive the scholarship belongs only to you and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

There are conditions you must keep meeting to stay eligible. These include holding a valid residence permit from UDI, accepting enrolment and keeping your student status, arriving on campus to start your studies, and keeping the study progression set by UiO. The page also says it is expected that you return to your home country after completing the master's programme.
