Overview

The A. Wilhelmsen Foundation has supported international students at BI Norwegian Business School through this scholarship programme since 2010. The point of the award is to help finance education in Norway for international students.

BI administers the scholarship and handles the academic follow-up of recipients. Study progression is followed, and payments for each semester depend on satisfactory progress as set out in the Scholarship Contract.

No internship, thesis counselling or job opportunities are attached to the award. The page notes that previous recipients have been able to make personal agreements when possibilities have arisen.

You can apply for more than one scholarship, but BI will award only one scholarship per student. An awarded scholarship is tied to the academic programme and campus, and cannot be transferred.

Eligibility

  • You must apply for admission to, and be accepted in, a Master of Science programme at BI Norwegian Business School.
  • You must be an international applicant who is a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland.
  • You must reside outside Norway at the time of application.
  • Only candidates seeking their first master's degree are considered.
  • International candidates who are eligible for tuition fee reduction and/or a student loan in Norway from Lånekassen (for example, those with a 180 ECTS bachelor's degree from a Norwegian educational institution) are treated as domestic applicants for scholarship purposes.

What it covers
