What you will study

What you study

Logistics, operations and supply chain management is about moving materials, goods and services from suppliers to consumers in a way that is effective, efficient and sustainable. This major gives you a cross-functional view across sourcing, planning, production and distribution. You combine management thinking with analytical tools and technology to plan, improve and steer global supply and value chains. Circularity, risk and resilience run through the programme.

You learn to take a strategic, conceptual and analytical perspective on supply chain and operations management. That includes modelling material and information flows, managing processes, planning batches, integrating systems, forecasting demand and managing stock so supply matches demand. You use data and programming tools to analyse, solve and implement real-world problems. You also learn to tell the difference between analysis at company, supply-chain and network levels, and to design networks for transport and distribution.

Procurement and sourcing strategy is part of the mix: balancing cost, risk and value, and building strong supplier relationships. You look at how to design circular supply chains and assess performance on the triple bottom line (economic, environmental and social). You also learn to spot risks and build resilience in local and global supply chains.
